National Media Seminar: “TV & Religion: Reinventing News” at India International Centre, New Delhi. Fourteen mainstream Television Channels participated in a half-day media conclave, where in the best known names and faces of Indian Television like Rahul Dev, CEO, CNEB; Kumar Rajesh of India News; Satish Jacob of ABC; AND B.V Rao of Zee News.

  • T.V. workshop for the 2nd and 3rd year students by Mr. Kamaal Akhtar, a well-known film maker from Mumbai.
  • Radio workshop on “Radio & Television in area of education” by Dr. O. P. Dewal, Joint Director (Software) at the Consortium for Educational Communication, UGC and Deputy Director at the Electronic Media Production Centre, IGNOU.

ONE MINUTE FEATURE FILM FESTIVAL


‘One Minute Feature Film Festival’ at Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, with participation from numerous colleges/ institutes where in media students portrayed their creative juices on a variety of socially relevant subjects in a fictionalized mode on celluloid.

VISITS TO TV CHANNELS FOR LIVE PROGRAMMES

Students visit to Doordarshan for Interactive Programme on "Quit India Day". Students asked number of question from panelists during the show.

 

Visit to AAJ TAK Channel to attend a quiz show hosted by Mr. RajdeepSardesai (Associate Editor) of TV Today Network.

VISIT TO GOVERNER’S HOUSE, HARYANA

JIMS Students visited the Governor’s House and were addressed by Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Dr. Kidwai on future of youth for growth and development of India.

Cultural and Sports Festival was organized in Rashtrapati Bhawan wherein our student of Mass Communication Ms. Monika Verma, JIMS won the first prize in the senior level quiz competition. She was awarded first prize by our Hon’ble President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Azad at the prize distribution ceremony held at Rahtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.

COMMUNITY RADIO OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Community Outreach Programme was organized for community women under our Community Radio on 75th Anniversary of 'Quit India Movement' started by Mahatma Gandhi. Ms. Nisha Singh inspector police women cell was called to speak to women about police help available and involvement of police in community services. All women along with our students were given an Oath by inspector Nisha Singh for maintaining cleanliness in their house and surroundings and assuring that their children go to schools.

VISIT TO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL GOA

Final year students of Mass Communication are taken to Goa to attend the International Film Festival every year. This provides them with an opportunity to get exposure to the films and interact with directors and film stars from different participating countries. Students also attend film bazaar and other workshops organized at the festival. They record interviews and have interaction with leading film personalities.
