The first semester works as a creative laboratory that guides participants to the progressive acquisition of a clear project development methodology applied to the Fashion Industry. Working in the the fashion system means working within a definite and unique environment that implies the combination of design, style, manufacturing and society changes, that madehistory. Students improve their ability in exploring fashion trends, combining theoretical knowledge and awareness of design with creativity and defining a strong and innovative fashion language in terms of ideas, shapes, textiles, colors and production processes.

Semester II

In the second semester students deal with subjects design to align and implement their skills. They prepare themselves for the collection development through a research phase. Then subjects related to the distinctive disciplinary fields support students in the definition of their professional identity: they work on specific production areas, practicing with textiles and processes in dedicated laboratories. Each project work is curated by a professional who is specialized in that category. Throughout the study path, students will also develop managerial skills: predisposition to teamwork, communication skills and collaboration with the various sectors and manufacturers of fabrics and clothing.

Third semester helps our students to understand how the fashion industries work and how brand strategies are crafted on a global context. Marketing, organizational issues, financial challenges as well as image and communication strategies will be discussed in a series of various modules. The topics covered equip students with a critically informed approach to Fashion Studies, including familiarity with key theorists and critical debates relating to the fashion system. Exposure to Fashion styling & photography provides an insight to several creative and technical skills that are required by photographers to capture fashion in new and engaging ways.

Semester IV

  • Dissertation
  • Industrial Training Report & Presentation

In the last semester students gets an opportunity to work closely with faculty and experts in an academically rigorous environment, students will have the opportunity to develop advanced research skills by completing a written or creative Major Research Project (MRP). An internship course provides students who elect to take it with professional experience in fashion or garment industries locally or internationally. Upon completion, students from the M.Voc Fashion program can pursue careers in retail management, brand development and merchandising, consulting, apparel design, education. It also prepares students for further advanced study in doctoral programs.
