The uniqueness of the 3 years degree programme is that it develops industry relevant practical skill sets using Industrial Training Project and Final Project. It also offers specialization in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Internet of Things. It will enhance the ability to program the problems, web development, Advance Java Programming, Microsoft .Net Programming, analyzing and mining the data, exposure of working on Technicalities of Mobile Computing, Computer Network Security, Cyber Ethics, Software Tesing, and Technologies that enable students to have various job opportunities like -Software Engineer/ Web developer, Cloud Architect, IoT Specialist, data Scientist, data Analyst, System Programmer, Database Administrator, Trainer, Networking Specialist, Network Security Specialist, Technical Writer, Search Engine Optimizer, Network Security Specialist etc.

Course Objective

  • The objective of the course is to develop skilled manpower in the various areas of information technology like Software Development, Software Engineering, Multimedia, Artificial Intelligence; Web based applications, Database Management System & Data Wire Housing and Mining, Data communication and Computer Networks.
  • To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work ready at each exit point of the programme. 
  • To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
  • To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce. 
  • To be a foundation graduate programme which will act as a feeder course for higher studies in the area of Computer Science/Applications.
  • To develop skills in software development so as to enable the BCA graduates to take up self-employment in Indian & global software market.
  • To Train & Equip the students to meet the requirement of the Industrial standards.

Course Highlights

Teaching Methodology- Well structured lectures with practical approach. Essentially involves use of innovative pedagogy to be adopted by the faculty. Projects & presentations/viva, assignments, technical quizzes are used extensively to achieve this objective.

Final Projects To inculcate group work and team management skills with cross-cultural etiquettes,   promoting knowledge  transfer  leading to conceptualization and  delivery of  projects with varied complexity.

Infrastructure

The IT Department of JIMS can boast of its state-of-the-art computing resources and network across the campus. JIMS has Central IT Infrastructure Center for IT support. The main objectives of the dedicated Server Room are to provide easily accessible and excellent computational facilities, support to all members of JIMS on all aspects of academic, research and recreational requirements, to implement and maintain  IT Infrastructure and application software, to impart introductory and advanced instructions to users, generate trained manpower to maintain IT Infrastructure (Servers, Desktops, Data Security, Network).

LECTURE HALLS

Fully air conditioned, spacious lecture halls equipped with latest audio visual aids such as mounted LCD’d , OHP’s and Smart Board that provide excellent infrastructure backup for academic interaction among faculties and students.

SEMINAR ROOM

High capacity seminar rooms with all latest audio visual aids that provide a good ambience and is available for workshops, seminars and guest lectures.

COMPUTER LABS

The Computer labs under department of IT provide a productive working environment for students enrolled at the college who require computer access for academic and research activities. Our Open Cluster Lab offers a variety of applications from general word processing to various research applications. All computers are configured latest operating systems, applications, and browsers that are networked to printers. Scanners are available for course activities. The labs are also equipped with a variety of Multimedia devices and software to provide support for Multimedia based 3D and Image Processing Projects.

LIBRARY

JIMS library is a veritable storehouse of information with ample text and reference books, national and international periodicals and journals. Well equipped and fully computerized library provides latest research and reference material in print and audio-visual formats along with the facility to refer to e- journals. To cultivate values in students and enhance their skills, the knowledge storehouse has an array of books on computing concepts, codification and networking. The reading room provides a conductive environment for better learning and concentration.

Industrial Visits

Industrial visit organized for III semester to logic fruit Technologies, Gurgaon on 22nd October 2019. Students were get an exposure to QT - A cross platform software environment. It is an open source software used for creating GUIs and cross platform applications.

Industrial visit to Network Bulls, Gurgaon for Final Year Students on 14th Oct 2019

The Students gone through in-depth learning of Cisco Networking and how networks work in the real industry.The workshop helped students to know about Career options and growing scope in the networking field.The workshop was delivered using Real Cisco Routers and Switches by experienced Cisco Certified Trainers.

The whole visit is divided into two sessions

Session I- Theory Session 

Session II- Practical Session

During theory session students were trained about the various theoretical Concepts of Networking including IP addressing Basics , subnetting, and other TCP/IP Basics.

During Practical Session students get hands on experience to work on Cisco Routers and Switches

An Industrial visit to Network Bulls was conducted for BCA Final year students. Students get exposure to routers, hubs, and switches. They got hands on experience of working of CISCO IOS commands on routers. They also got a brief demo of working of various routing protocols like RIP, IGRP etc.
